About COLBY #241

#241 COLBY (Hound/Healer) Carthage, TX - Tucson, AZ

COLBY #241 is an 8 m/o 40# Male Bluetick Hound/Healer who was rescued by Ginger B of Tuckers Tag Along Rescue from the Irving, TX, kill shelter just before he was to be put to sleep (pts). Transferred to Carthage, TX, to a temporary foster home, Colby didn't do too well there.

Driver Nancy R picked up Colby near Longview, TX, and proceeded on to Fort Worth, TX, where she picked up an older dog, Cinnamon. Then the fun began for Nancy.

So happy not to be caged any longer and to have a playmate, Colby wouldn't leave the older Cinnamon alone. Eventually she had enough of Colby and proceeded to put him in his place. He wouldn't stay out of the garbage, or any number of things he could get into while Nancy was driving. He ate a hole in a night shirt, two tennis balls given to him to play with, and two collapsible dog dishes. One morning Nancy woke to discover her hair, braided into one long braid, was two inches shorter as Colby had chew it off. Laughing, Nancy said at least it was evenly chewed.

While out of the truck, Nancy had left the window open a couple inches for air venting and came back to find Colby had put one paw on the window edge and the other on the automatic window control and his paw was caught. The driver in the next truck was laughing and so was Nancy after she determined he was unhurt. Colby just looked at her as if to say, "well, aren't you going to get me out of this predicament??"

Colby was picked up by his new forever family, Trudi C, in Tucson, AZ. At last report, he is doing much better and learning to be well behaved under the persistent tutoring of Trudi.
