#235 VELVETEEN (PIT) Mineral Wells, TX - Charlotte, NC
VELVETEEN #235, a 10 m/o 45# Pitbull began her journey at the kill shelter in Irving, TX. Rescued by Ginger of Tucker's Tag Along Rescue at the very last minute before she was scheduled to be PTS, Velveteen took in stride the several moves from foster to foster until Operation Roger driver Randall M picked her up near Weatherford, TX, to start her final journey to Charlotte, NC.
From the beginning, Randall was calling in laughing at the antics of his charge. Laid back, easy going Velvetten quickly made herself at home... on Randall's bunk. She not just curled up as most dogs would do, she sprawled out on her back, feet up, and slept soundly.
When Randall would try to convince her she was a deeaugee and belonged on the floor, she would talk back to him, telling him he didn't know what he was talking about. She was enjoying her sleep just fine, thank you very much.
Needless to say, Randall fell in love. But, she had a home to go to through the receiving rescue. He did make it known to them, however, that if the receiving family didn't want her, he was to be called.
