About AURA #216

#216 AURA (Lab X) Harrisburg, PA - Tulare, CA

AURA #216, a Female Black Lab Mix, 10 weeks, 8-10# has had quite a young life. Born on board a truck, Aura was adopted by a truck driver, Jennifer L, who then learned she could not have any pet on board her truck less than six months and was thus in jeopardy of losing her job.

Put in touch with Classy Lady, Jennifer, then in Harrisburg, PA, was in tears. Classy Lady contacted driver Chris C, who lives near there. In AL at the time, Chris contacted Dwayne M, his brother-in-law, who met Jennifer at a truck stop and took the pup home with him until Chris' wife and family could return from out of town.

The plan was for the original truck drivers, Kathy and Clint, in CA by this time, to return to PA on their return trip. However, the best of plans do go astray. Chris' family kept Aura until Chris returned home. He then took Aura on board with him, planning to meet Clint somewhere along the way or get a repower on to Tulare, CA, and to Kathy.

That didn't happen either so Chris took Aura back when he went home the next time. By this time, Chris' 13 y/o daughter, Chasity, was getting rather attached to Aura and, according to Chris, they had enough dogs at home already.

Our co-ordinator, Leanne and the team leaders for Operation Roger were frantically trying to get Aura back to Clint and Kathy and out of Chris' home when Clint finally made it to York, PA, where he was met with Aura.

Once again, one of Operation Roger drivers came to the rescue of a stranded pup. Thanks, Chris, and to your wonderful family.
