COCOA PUFF #182, Chihuahua 6-7 years, 7#, Female has completed her travels from her former home in Terrell, TX, after her elderly owners had to be put into a nursing home, where they passed away, to her new loving home in Braden, B.C., Canada.
Cocoa Puff was rescued by Cindy S from the back yard where she had been for a month, starving, blind in one eye, and understandably protective of any food. Debbie B was contacted and posted Cocoa Puff's picture on Petfinder.com and found a loving home with Janice M in Branden, B.C., Canada.
As soon as Cocoa Puff came on our board, the Operation Roger organization began the task of finding just the right driver to do the transport. In this case, three drivers were in place. Team Leader Kathy Y picked Cocoa Puff up in Terrell. She kept her on board until she made her way to Yakima, WA, where Janet K repowered her. Janet kept Cocoa Puff with her with plans to repower her with our Canadian driver Ray C a few days later in Seattle, WA.
However, the new "Mom" Janice couldn't wait to get her new family member. She and a friend drove down to Marys, WA, where they met with Janet. We appreciate Ray's willingness to contribute his time and effort, but once again, an anxious owner couldn't wait for him to make the return trip from Canada to Seattle and back.
Thanks for everyone's contribution of time and effort to help little Cocoa Puff. As an added note, this was both Kathy's and Janet's first transport. Thanks, gals.
