#135 SPOT (Chi/Rat Terrier) Toney, AL - Interlachen, FL
SPOT #135, a tiny, 3#, 2 year old female Chihuahua/Rat Terrier from Toney, AL, was picked up by driver Tony H from Foster "Mom" Mary B in Athens, AL.
Spot was leash trained and interacted quite well with Tony's four-legged companion, Maria, who can be very picky about her friends. Although Spot was nervous at first when picked up, she soon sniffed out her surroundings, found them in perfect order, laid down on the puppy piddle pad thinking it was a blanket and promptly went to sleep.
This was a short, 2 hour transport to Chattanooga, TN, where Spot met Misty S who is serving Operation Roger as a layover home at her rescue. She will stay there several days until driver Danny Joe W arrives to complete her travels to Interlachen, FL, where she will become the companion of Mary's mother, Virginia F.
Danny Joe completed the transport of this little girl to Gainesville,FL, where Virginia picked her up. This was quite a change for Danny as he has been transporting the big dogs like Catahoula Leopards. So, he went from 60-100 pound pets to a mere 3 pounder.
He says Spot was cute but a bit reserved with him. Danny gave Spot a biscuit which quickly disappeared except for some crumbs on the seat. She looked at Danny as if to say, "Well, aren't you going to clean this up?" Danny just kept driving. Spot then decided that tactic wasn't working so she pushed every crumb off the seat into the floor before laying down to sleep.
