Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

DAISY #306

#305 PIECES (Tabby Cat) and #306 DAISY (Black Lab) Chino Valley, AZ - Mt. Pleasant, IA PIECES #305 a 3 yr 7# female Tabby Cat and her buddy DAISY #306 3 yr 40# female Black Lab have finally made their way to a big reunion with their “Mom” Sue, who had to leave them behind in Chino Valley when she rushed to the aid of her son in Mt. Pleasant, IA. We tried on several occasions over the months to pick them up but were thwarted each time for various reasons - both shippers and ours. As time went on we despaired of being able to help even though the shippers stayed with us. We learned the two needed to travel together as Daisy gets upset without her “Mom” but is manageable when Pieces is around. Talk about being buddies. This caused some delay as a couple possible transports didn’t gel because the drivers were allergic to cats. Then two of our drivers, Kathy Y and Nancy R, were both headed through the area, one after the other, and could have picked them up but the shipper didn’t have a health certificate for one of the pets; so they lost both rides. Nancy worked hard to put together a repower with drivers from Krystals4Wheelers out of the Dallas, TX, area toward St. Louis, MO. But, even that didn’t work out in time. The next attempt was to get Pieces and Daisy down to Tucson where they could be flown out by a pilot with Pilots&Paws. That fell though when the pilot's plane broke down and he had to fly commercial to Tucson for his meeting. Then, finally, Team Leader Nancy R picked up Pieces & Daisy in Flagstaff, AZ. She transferred them to Driver Jay McKenzie and his wife, Adel, in Oklahoma City, OK, the next day. They served as a Layover Home over the weekend. Adel M then took them with her on her regular route through Kellyville, OK, to a Layover Home with Carol Lawrence of Creek Pet Adoption who kept the duo until the following weekend. Krystals4Wheelers group then pitched in. Penny L met Carol in Kellyville and took them to Dale Ann and Samantha in Tulsa. These two ladies then drove to Vinita, OK where they met Paula and her family (daughters and husband). They in turn drove from Vinita to Carthage, MO, for a pit stop, and for Daisy to run around a bit in their fenced yard and blow off some steam. They then dropped off another rescue kitty passenger and then continued on to Bethany, MO, with Pieces and Daisy. Josh W and a friend drove from Bethany, MO, to Ottumwa, IA. There Pieces and Daisy were reunited with their “Mom” Sue and a relative who picked up the two travelers and drove on home to Mt. Pleasant, IA. All involved with this transport were Operation Roger Team Leaders Kris & Brandy P, Team Leader Nancy R, Driver Jay M and Adel M, LOH Carol L, Krystals4Wheelers group, Penny L, Dale Ann and Samantha, Paula and family, Josh W and friend - pu 10/17/08 and del 10/25/08 **************************************************************

DAISY/MISTY #322
DAISY/MISTY #322

#322 DAISY (Jack Russell Terrier Mix) Kirbyville, MO - Prescott Valley, AZ DAISY #322, now known as MISTY, a 12# female Jack Russell Terrier came from Linda B’s rescue. Operation Roger Team Leaders Kris & Brandy P pu 11//08 del 12/2/08 ************************************************************** Report received from Kris & Brandy: HERE IS THE STORY OF DAISY Brandy and I picked up Daisy/Misty, a 22 m/o female JRT mix going to Prescott Valley, AZ, from Linda B, in Springfield, MO, on 11/29. Daisy/Misty was a shy little girl; but, once we got her into the truck, she warmed up just fine. She took to the truck like she belonged here. There is a story behind Daisy/Misty. She once had belonged to the current receiver, having been gifted her from the shipper. However, through circumstances beyond his control, he had been forced to relinquish her. Finding her on Petfinder.com sometime later, Richard, the receiver made application and has adopted her again. We delivered her to Richard V in Mayer, AZ. **************************************************************
