Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

JACK #146

#146 JACK & #147 JED (Beagles) Dayton,TN - Swedesboro,NJ JACK #146, a two month old male Beagle weighing 8 pounds, and JED #147, a 7 month old male Beagle weighing 18 pounds began thier travels in Dayton, TN, with Linda F who took them to Knoxville, TN, to meet driver Tony H. Jack, a tri-colored Beagle, was your typical puppy, loved petting. Jed was tentative on the leash, loved petting. Both made the trip quite well under Tony's watchful eye. Tony's little companion, Maria, a small Long-haired Chi, might have had other ideas about this though. Jack and Jed were met in Swedesboro, NJ, by Pam Y, also with SOS Beagles who will locate them to permanent homes. JUPITER #143

#143 JUPITER (Chow X) Little Rock, AR to Corona, CA JUPITER #143, a 12 week old, 15 #, male Chow X was picked up from Debbie B in Little Rock, AR, and delivered safely to his new family with Heather in Corona, CA, by team drivers Larry and Tanya H. Rescued from a kill shelter and traveling to his forever home, Jupiter was an adorable little guy, mature for his age, and didn’t exhibit the usual rambunctious puppy behavior. Driver Sue W, in Little Rock on a break. agreed to "foster" little Jupiter for a few hours until Larry and Tanya could arrive. The trip continued without incident, and Jupiter was safely delivered to his new "Mom" Heather O. Heather was still grieving for the Chow she had recently lost and said Jupiter was a spitting image and a definite "missing link." JACKO #150

#150 JACKO (JRT) Girard, OH - Carson City NV JACKO #150, a 22 pound Jack Russell Terrier, 8 y/o, male returned to his original home in Carson City, NV, with the help of two drivers, John K and Phil S. Several months ago Jacko was adopted by Pedro C from Girard, OH, as a companion for his elderly father while he, Pedro, worked. Unfortunately, Mr. C, the father, suffered a stroke and had to return to his native Puerto Rico. Jacko moped around to the point Pedro decided to return him to his former home in Carson City, NV, with Jerri and Robert. John K met Pedro at a truck stop in Seville (Lodi), OH. A few hours later, John met Phil S at another truck stop in Jeffersonville, OH, who then took him home with him to Springfield, MO. While there, Jacko took exception to Phil playing with his own puppy, Jake, resulting in an immediate repower on his way to Nevada. Phil drove up to Sedalia, MO, to meet again with John K. Also involved in this transfer was drivers Joe F and Glen W. Joe had offered his home as a layover if needed (it wasn't) and Glen, who happened to be near the Sedalia area, offered to take Jacko. As it turned out, John was closer and again stepped up to the plate to repower Jacko who had gotten along with Buddy, John's Lab X companion, the first time. The only incident reported on the remainder of the trip was a confrontation between the two dogs which resulted in both of them going to their corners, which happened to be the same corner, together, and making mental notes not to rile John again. Otherwise, the two even slept together. Oh, one other thing. Jacko accidently locked the door when John got out. In reaching through the window to unlock the door, John found himself confronted with a growling Lab who objected to an arm being stuck through the window, even if it was his master's. Guess John doesn't have to worry about anyone taking his truck... or his dog! John met Robert in Las Vegas, NV. When Jacko saw Robert, he immediatley began jumping from seat to seat, excited to see someone he knew and obviously loved.
