Success Stories
Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!
The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.
This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name. However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical. Confused? Don't worry. Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually. Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.
If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.
We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

KLARA #97
#97 KLARA (Entelbucher) Martin, MI - Chestertown, MD
KLARA #97 a 1 year old, 35#, female Entelbucher was picked up by Driver Doug (Dusty) L near Grand Rapids, MI. This was Dusty's first transport and it went well. He said Klara loved to be scratched behind the ears. Dusty met Mitchell, with Rolling Rescue, in Lamar, PA, who took Klara on to Chestertown, MD.
Klara is a snuggler, good with people, good with dogs except dominant dogs, and not good with cats. She was taken in by Bellowood after an IN rescue renigged on taking her after she was already enroute to Indianapolis from GA.
Mis-labeled as a terrier mix, she is really an Entelbucher, a small, little known in the U.S., cattle herding breed. She has a strong herding drive and needed a working home. Victory Farms in Chestertown, MD, specializes in training and placing working dogs. Like most herding breeds, Klara will sometimes nip at ankles or hands while walking with a handler. This is not aggression, its a breed trait. In the abscence of cows, she will try to herd people.

KRISTIE #209
#209 KRISTIE (Silky/Yorkie) Little Rock, AR-Wallingford,CT
KRISTIE #209, a Silky/Yorkie Female, 2-4 years of age, and 10 pounds was rescued from a kill shelter by Debbie B who went the extra mile by driving to West Memphis, AR, to meet with team drivers Gary and Pat M.
Kristie was very street wise. There was no doubt she had learned quite well how to fend for herself, even enduring kicks, etc, from humans as she foraged for food. She was very sensitive to every movement and especially would protect her food. With the love and understanding this team gave her enroute, Kristie will have a much better start on the rest of her life.
She met her new "Mom" Gail F near Waterford, CT.

KILLER #251 *
#251 KILLER (DMH Cat) Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Mashpee, MA
KILLER #251, DMH Cat, 1 y/o, 8# female has a new home. When her original owner passed away and her husband, Denis, couldn't care for Killer due to his work schedule, a family friend, Sara, decided to adopt the cat.
Driver Susan M quickly picked up Killer on her way home and kept her until she came back. She then met with driver Dellcina H in Gainsville, FL. Dell added the misnamed cat to her mernagie of 3 dogs and a cat and worked her way to Sturbridge, MA, where Sara met them.
We have to wonder how Killer, renamed Baby enroute, got her name.

FOLLOWING IS AN EXCERPT FROM AN E-MAIL FROM SUSAN 2/22/08:
Hello, my name is Susan M, and new member of Operation Roger. On Tues Feb 19, 2008 I picked up 2 animals from West Palm Beach, Florida. We met at a travel plaza on the turnpike. I picked up a puppy named Iceman. He's 12 weeks old, Deaf, and is a mini aussie shepherd. He is going to his new home in Indiana, to a family with a Deaf member. I also got a cat named Killer. She is going to Massachussetts to her new family. Both animals are doing great. They are spending a few days with me during my hometime, then we will get them to their homes.
Kitty is very sweet and laid back. I took her outside today to let her walk, then I picked her up and carried her around and let the cool breeze brush her face, and she looked around at all the birds in the trees. She liked being outside and is fine with me holding her. She loves to play with her toys in the house. She can jump high and gets on the kitchen counter. I keep everything very clean, and I am training her not to jump up while I am cooking. She learns fast. She is cute and sweet and is a very good kitty. Here are some photos' for your website. Susan
