Success Stories
Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!
The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.
This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name. However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical. Confused? Don't worry. Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually. Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.
If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.
We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

MITZI #189 *
#189 MITZI (Anotolian Shepherd X) Longview, TX - Los Alamos, NM
MITZI #189, an Anotolian Shepherd Mix, 8 months, 50 pound Female left her foster home in Longview, TX, with Angie P to meet driver Randall M. Mitizi was thus enroute to be a surprise 6th birthday present for a young lady. Randall reported Mitizi ate well, slept, and won him over when she put her chin on his knee. One night he woke up to find Mitizi staring at him. She licked his hand and went back to sleep.
Mitizi's new family, Joe and Donna R, met her in Las Cruces, NM. When Randall called in to report on the trip, his first statement was " Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"
"The good news is Mitizi has been successfully delivered. The bad news is she was petnapped." Randall had fallen in love with Mitiz and actually felt like she was being petnapped and wanted to follow the car as it left with her.

THE FOLLOWING E-MAIL WAS RECEIVED 5/22/07:
Thanks to the trucker who transported Mitzi for Partnership for Pets, Longview, Texas, to Donna and Joe, Los Alamos, NM. We were notified by Donna and Joe that Mitzi arrived on time and in very good spirits. We appreciate the professionalism that was exhibited by this group of truckers and the great care that Mitiz received in transit. Mitzi is an Anatolian x and with her dense haircoat, we were concerned that flying her to NM might be a problem due to rising temperatures. The adopters contacted Operation Roger and within a day or so the transport was arranged. Mitiz left Longview, Texas, from the National Truck Stop about 7 a.m. on Friday and arrived in Los Cruces, NM about noon or so on Sunday. Make sure that the trucker knows how much all of us appreciate his care of Mitzi.

Randall,
Attached is a picture of Mitzi and her new family. Our daughter was totally surprised when we brought Mitzi home Sunday and is thrilled. Mitzi sleeps in her bedroom every night and walks with me to the bus stop every afternoon to pick up her new best friend up. They seem very happy with each other.
Thanks again for taking such good care of Mitzi and for bringing her to us!
Take care,
Donna and Joe

MICAH #222
#222 MICAH (Standard Poodle) Salem, OR - Idaho Falls,ID
MICAH #222, a standard Poodle, 50# Male took a short ride from Salem, OR, in his trainer's car to meet driver Jeff M at a truck stop in Troutdale, OR. From there Jeff reports Micah rode well, even getting in and out of the truck with no problems. He was very obedient and very well trained.
Micah is a special pet for he was trained especially by his owner/trainer Sara D for service and assistance to Audrey in Idaho Falls, ID. After an upcoming surgery to remove a tumor, Audrey will need Micah to hear for her.
As an added note, Jeff and his wife, Darla, went the extra mile to deliver Micah. On his way home when he picked up Micah, Jeff and Darla took him in their personal car from their home in Ogden, UT, all the way up to Idaho Falls, right to Audrey's doorstep. Once again, the heart of the Operation Roger drivers knows no boundaries.

MICKEY #223
#223 MICKEY (Heeler/Hound) Valley View, TX - Lakeside, MT
Mickey #223, a year old, 45# male Heeler/Hound has made his journey north from Valley View, TX. Picked up north of Denton, TX, by driver Randy J, Mickey reportedly rode well, quickly adapting to his unusual ride. Randy says Mickey is tri-colored, like a beagle.
Apparently, Mickey had made quite an impression on his foster Mom, Marty, for she shed a few tears when he left. Mickey is a little timid at first but he warmed right up to Randy. He had never been in a house before he arrived at Marty's, but it did not take him long to get used to being in. He soon went up and down the steps and in and out the door like he had always been there.
Randy reports the first night, Mickey was so well behaved he couldn't even be enticed with food up onto the bunk (bed). He chose to sleep on the floor. However, sometime during the trip, Randy missed him on the floor. Looking back into the bunk, there was Mickey, all settled in and watching the scenery through the windshield. Normally, though, Mickey would ride on floor when the truck was moving. As soon as Randy would get out, Mickey was on his seat, watching his every move.
Marty sent a card along with Randy with instructions not to open it until his next stop, which he did. The card reads in part .... "Thank you again for your efforts on getting Mickey to a loving home. Your group's efforts is greatly appreciated."
On the other end of the trip, Randy took Mickey home with him in UT. From there, Randy drove his personal vehicle from Ogden to Butt, MT. The new Dad, Eric, drove all the way down from Lakeside to meet them. Once again, an Operation Roger driver shows his big heart by going the extra mile to give a helping hand to a pet in need.
