Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

MICKEY #245 *

#245 MICKEY (Min-Pin) Reisterstown, MD - Candler, FL MICKEY #245 a Min-Pin, 9 y/o, 14# toothless male was picked up near Reisterstown, MD, by driver Nancy R from Sheryl P. Brain damaged, he would growl when picked up but this was NOT aggression but "talking." He is a very happy little dog. It was his way of communicating. At some time in his life, he had suffered a spinal injury and walked lopsided. Mickey is to spend the rest of his life at Rainbow Ranch Pet Retirement Home in Candler, FL, with Heather and Theresa. Arranged and Transported by Operation Roger Team Leader Nancy R pu 2-15-08 del 2-20-08 ********** THE FOLLOWING WAS TAKEN FROM THE WEBSITE OF RAINBOW RANCH PET RETIREMENT HOME: Operation Roger Trucks In -- Sunday February 17th, 2008 Operation Roger safely and happily delivered Mickey, TinkerBelle and Jake. MARBLES #291

#291 MARBLES (Old English Sheepdog) Springfield, IL - Parker, SD MARBLES #291 a 1.5 y/o 75# male Old English Sheepdog came up to Scott’s waist. Scott was literally on top of Marbles’ location when he learned of him. He called Nancy H, the shipper, and she met Scott within the hour near Springfield, IL. Scott described Marbles as Grey and White with a left Blue eye and a right Brown eye and very, very strong. Among the largest of the pets Scott has transported, he took to Marbles right away and thought he was the greatest. Marbles met his new family, Brett & Carmen S near Sioux Falls, SD. MARA #299

#299 MARA & #300 BILLY RAY (Basenji) Brighton, MI - Lakewood, NJ MARA #299 a female 8 mo 15# Basenji & her brother BILLY RAY #300 a male 8 mo Basenji were picked up by Driver Danny Joe W near Brighton from Linda L and delivered the next day to their new Mom, Kathryn, near Baltimore. What makes these two special for Operation Roger is they were picked up just two days following our 3rd anniversary and Billy Ray’s #300 makes him especially special. In addition, Danny Joe tossed his hat in with us on that day, August 16, 2005, yet waited nearly nine months before he had his first transport. He has done many since then. For him to be able to make these transports is extra special for us. MARY #307
MARY #307

#307 MARY (Great Pyrenees) Waco, TX - Hartland, WI MARY #307 a 3 yr female 65# Great Pyrenees apparently has had a hard life up to now. Rescued by the Waco Humane Society after having been found tied up and left without food for about a month, she should have weighed about 140# (the vet’s health certificate from the day of transport indicated only 57#). On Thursday night during a Team Leader meeting, it was discovered Team Leaders Kris & Brandy P were to deliver their load in Garland, TX, the next morning and were scheduled to reload around noon going up to the MN/WI border. The Humane Society didn’t open until 10 a.m. and Mary didn’t have her health certificate. That Friday morning was hectic as Sue W made calls to the receiver for help and calls to the HS before opening time. Everyone scrambled to get Mary’s documents and a ride up to Kris and Brandy before they reloaded. This was a ride Mary needed to get to her new rescue that could help her get back up to good health again. Sue W drove down from Joshua to Hillsboro to meet with the veterinarian, Dr. Brunson, herself who had driven Mary up from Waco. Then Sue drove all the way up to Garland to meet the drivers at their shipper. Providence was with Mary as the reload for Kris & Brandy and their little Poodle, Little Joe, had been delayed. Kris reported Mary would look at him with her big brown eyes with such desperation she touched his heart. Mary met her new rescue “Mom” Lori in Tomah, WI, and they proceeded on to Hartland, WI. Also, the Waco Humane Society was a delight to work with. Again proving there are some who do care for the welfare of the pets and are willing to do what it takes to help them get on to better homes. Operation Roger Driver Sue W, and Team Leaders Kris & Brandy P pu 10/24/08 - del 10/26/08 **************************************************************
