Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

PIPER #166

#166 PIPER (Toy Poodle mix) Austin, TX - Tucson, AZ PIPER #166 a sweet, loveable male Toy Poodle mix, 1.5 years old, 6 pounds, has been successfully transported from Austin, TX, to Tucson, AZ. Benita G, the rescuer, drove all the way from Austin to just south of Fort Worth to meet with Operation Roger team drivers Ernie and Sue W late at night. Ernie and Sue report Piper tried his best to make friends with their little Yorki, Abbey. However, Abbey wasn't too sure about this new intruder into her territory. With Piper on one side and Abbey on the other, Sue was able to settle them down and get some sleep herself. The team reports their meeting with Piper's new owners, Mr and Mrs J.M. Ouzts was very satisfying and were all smiles about the new home for Piper who had just recently undergone hip surgery. This was Ernie and Sue's first transport and they are ready for more! PONGO #175

#175 PONGO (JRT) Gainesville, FL - Chattanooga, TN PONGO #175, a Jack Russell Terrier, 7 m/o, 20#, male has made his second journey with Operation Roger...Truckers Pet Transport. A few months ago, he was adopted by Terry W. It was unknown at the time Pongo was deaf. After much deliberation, Terry decided she was not equipped to handle Pongo and it was in his best interests to be returned to the rescue for placement with someone who could handle a special needs pet. Terry met driver Danny Joe W near Ocala, FL, who then took Pongo back to Misty S in Chattanooga, TN. Danny Joe reports Pongo is very rambunctious. He didn't like Danny Joe's Chow X, Old Black, near his cage but was friendly once he was out of it. Then he proved he was a puppy when he chewed some papers to shreds Danny Joe had left lying around. Old Black just looked at Pongo and his mess as if to say "Dumb Dog, now look what you did." PIGGY #243

#243 PIGGY (DSH Cat) Boise, ID - Sacramento, CA PIGGY #243, a 4 y/o 10# Male DSH Cat needed transportation from one sister in Boise, ID, to another sister in Sacramento, CA. He sat on our board for two months during which time several terrible snow storms hit his part of the country, preventing many drivers from even considering taking on a pet to transport. Eventually though, driver, Jim F, made it through and picked Piggy up on his way to Washington state, knowing he wouldn't be able to get to Sacramento. Piggy protested the first day out but after that made himself at home and thought he ruled the roost. He quickly adapted to being a "truck" cat. The two traveled back through Idaho, Utah, Colorado, down to Phoenix, AZ, and then over to Gardenia, CA, where Operation Roger shuttle driver Kathy L picked Piggy up from Jim. She then enlisted her boss, Mick F, to take Piggy along with him when he left from Chico the next day for Stockton. Again, Piggy protested the car ride, nearly driving Mick batty. There, he was met by Afrodite K of Krystal's 4-Wheelers, who took Piggy on to his new home with Eve B in Sacramento, CA. Arranged with the help of Krystal M Krystal's 4-Wheelers Operation Roger driver Jim F pu 1/17/08 Repowered to Operation Roger shuttle driver Kathy L 1/28/08. Repowered 1/31/08 to Mick F . POLY-ZOOM #226

#226 POLY-ZOOM (Polydactyl Kitten) Hot Springs,AR - York, ME POLY-ZOOM #226 a tiny, tiny 9 week old Calico Polydactyl Kitten began her journey in Hot Springs, AR. Her owner, Gerald H brought her to driver Sue W in Malvern, AR. Sue took Poly and her two maltipoo companions with her when they visited her brother in Prescott that night. Found to have fleas, they proceeded to give her a dunking which she took right in stride. Over the next six days, Poly proceeded to make friends with Louie and Douie. She loved to play with Douie's long ears, snuggle up with him, and made him her friend. Louie wasn't quite so easy to make friends with but by the time Poly made her next transition to her new home, even Louie was tolerating her. On Wednesday night, Poly was transferred to Michelle G, a layover home, for a few hours until another driver, Jerry H, was able to come through Revenna, OH, to pick her up. Early on Friday morning, Poly's new family, Ernie & Jan H and their 11 year old son, Alexander, arrived to meet their new family member. At last report, Poly had settled into her new home and was winning over her new four-legged friend.
