Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

COCOA PUFF #182

#182 COCOA PUFF (Chi) Terrell, TX - Braden, B.C. Canada COCOA PUFF #182, Chihuahua 6-7 years, 7#, Female has completed her travels from her former home in Terrell, TX, after her elderly owners had to be put into a nursing home, where they passed away, to her new loving home in Braden, B.C., Canada. Cocoa Puff was rescued by Cindy S from the back yard where she had been for a month, starving, blind in one eye, and understandably protective of any food. Debbie B was contacted and posted Cocoa Puff's picture on Petfinder.com and found a loving home with Janice M in Branden, B.C., Canada. As soon as Cocoa Puff came on our board, the Operation Roger organization began the task of finding just the right driver to do the transport. In this case, three drivers were in place. Team Leader Kathy Y picked Cocoa Puff up in Terrell. She kept her on board until she made her way to Yakima, WA, where Janet K repowered her. Janet kept Cocoa Puff with her with plans to repower her with our Canadian driver Ray C a few days later in Seattle, WA. However, the new "Mom" Janice couldn't wait to get her new family member. She and a friend drove down to Marys, WA, where they met with Janet. We appreciate Ray's willingness to contribute his time and effort, but once again, an anxious owner couldn't wait for him to make the return trip from Canada to Seattle and back. Thanks for everyone's contribution of time and effort to help little Cocoa Puff. As an added note, this was both Kathy's and Janet's first transport. Thanks, gals. CHEVY #198

#198 CHEVY (Catahoula) Valdosta, GA - Rocky River,OH Chevy #198, a Catahoula Leopard Mix, approx. 3 years and 50 pound Male begane his travels from the Osceala County Animal Control (a kill shelter) in St. Cloud, FL. He was transferred to Valdosta, GA, where he was picked up by driver Danny Joe W. Chevy loved to give kisses and absolutely loved trucking. Whenever Danny would start the truck, he said Chevy would almost grin with excitement. Of all the Catahoula's Danny Joe has transported, he admitted Chevy won his heart. Chevy was reportedly a great dog, gentle, easy to take care of, loving and will make a great pet. He even thought seriously about adopting Chevy himself. However, he already has his limit at home and thus he reluctantly delivered Chevy to his foster "Mom" Maria. CANDY #203 *

#202 DANDY/#203 CANDY(Cats)Chino Valley,AZ-Gering, NE * Dandy Andy #202 and CANDY CANE #203, both polydactyl kittens, 9 weeks, 2-3 pounds, male and a female began their adventure in Chino Valley, AZ, with Sandra B who rescued them from a shelter. They were picked up in Ashfork, AZ, by team drivers Chris and Brandy P. Chris and Brandy report the two silver grey with dark grey markings kittens were very unique. Each of these polydactyl kittens had six toes on their front paws and seven toes on their back paws. The first day on board they slept, but by the second day they wanted out of their carrier to explore their new surroundings. Dandy Andy liked to sit in the litter box. Gizmo, Chris and Brandy's traveling companion, was scared of the two kittens at first but later would bathe Candy Cane. Both kittens traveled west to Los Angeles, CA, area before heading back east to meet their new adoptive family with Glenda L in Gering, NE. Arranged by Sandra B United Animal Friends Chino Valley, AZ Operation Roger Drivers Chris and Brandy P pu 6/18/07 - del 6/20/07 *************** We have received this e-mail pertaining to DANDY ANDY and CANDY CANE: From: "glenda Goodman" Date: Fri, Jun 22, 2007 11:27 am To: operation roger Ms. Honey Edwards, I simply want to say thank you for all your efforts to get my form posted and especially your patience. I would also like to let you know what a wonderful transport you found for my kitties. As you know it was Chris and his wife Brandy who did this service for us. They did such a thoughtful and excellent job. They were very loving to the kitties...very kind. They were incredibly professional in every way. They kept me completely posted at every phase of their trip. When they would tell me they would call at different points in their progress towards me they did, exactly on time. At the final pick up where we met in Kimball Nebraska they arrived about 10 minutes after I arrived...Brandy carried my kitties to my vehicle, what a surprise...She spotted me before I spotted her. She spent at least five minutes talking to the kitties and comforting them before she left us, telling the kitties everything would be okay...What a sweet lady...It was about 3:45am, I never did get to meet Chris in person, hope he was sleeping...Anyway this is my forever impression of your lovely service to our animals and people that love them. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Glenda Larsen : NEBRASKA ****************************************************

CINNABON #220

#220 CINNABON/#221 LITTLE MAMA (Ferrets) Louisville, KY - Gallup, NM #220 CINNABON a 5 y/o 3# Male, and #221 LITTLE MAMA a 5 y/o 2.5# Female Ferrets were picked up near Louisville, KY, by team drivers Chris & Brandy P and safely delivered to their destination in Gallup, NM. The ferrets came in a carrier and had food and water set up for them inside the carrier. Chris and Brandy report the ferrets were very tame, had great dispositions, and were definitely lovable. Their two on-board companions met them with differing reactions. Gizmo, the Yorkie, thought they were strange looking dogs and wanted to play while Little Joe, the Poodle, simply kept his distance. By the end of the trip, both Cinnabon and Little Mama had "kissed" Gizmo on the nose. Little Mama and Cinnabon were rescued from a a large backyard breeder in Ohio who had over 700 ferrets outside in deplorable conditions. They were breeding indiscriminately and resulted in more of a hoarding situation than a breeding one. This pair are two of 14 first taken from the breeder, with nearly 50 more coming. Transporting them to their new home in New Mexico clears out cage space to take in more of the rescues. The rescuers report "It's overwhelming!" Though not socialized when coming off the "farm", neither of these two were ever aggressive and once they were spayed and neutered, their dispositions turned into that of mushy little sweethearts. Mama will give you kisses and Cinnabon will cuddle. Jerri C, the foster Mom, met this team with a sign which read "New Mexico or Bust." The receiver, Clover W, has a separate room especially set up for Cinnabon and Little Mama to enjoy. Chris and Brandy didn't say if the rescuer's caution of "Once holding the ferret, a driver may have the sudden urge to acquire one of this lovely creatures" tempted them.
