Success Stories
Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!
The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.
This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name. However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical. Confused? Don't worry. Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually. Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.
If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.
We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

DUSTY #134
#134 DUSTY (Beagle) Dayton, TN - Morristown, NJ
DUSTY #134, a 1 year old, 22 pound, female Beagle, from Dayton, TN, was picked up by driver Tony H from Linda F of SOS Beagles in Athens, TN.
Tony reports Dusty was quiet, unassuming, and initially timid. She got along great with Maria, Tony's little Chihuahua, and Chance, another transported Beagle. Dusty promptly found Tony's bunk bed and made herself at home, sleeping most of the way up.
When he stopped for potty breaks, he did have to watch her closely and keep a tight reign on her leash because she did want to run. Tony reports Dusty loved to sit in his seat while he was walking the other dogs and honk the horn.
Dusty was delivered to Colin M of SOS Beagles and Dusty's new "Mom" Barbara in Pluckemin, NJ, who took him on to his forever home in Morristown, NJ. Tony reports it was love at first sight for both Dusty and Barbara.

DUKE #107
#107 DUKE (Catahoula) Knoxville, TN-Los Alamos NM 87455
DUKE #107 a 2 y/o, 60#, Catahoula Leopard male began his journey in Bainbridge, GA, before being transported to Knoxville, TN, where Operation Roger team drivers Larry and Tanya H picked him up from Sandra R, an approved Catahoula Rescue foster.
Duke had been thoroughly temperament tested with people, kids and dogs and had passed with flying colors. However, Duke is NOT good with cats, PERIOD! Duke had been in a good shelter but it was a kill shelter.
They had kept Duke longer than his time because he is an exceptional dog! He is a mellow fellow but DOES have a prey drive (per his breed) and is NOT suited to travel or to live with cats.
Larry and Tanya can attest to Duke's prey drive and his dislike of long confinement in a vehicle as he tried on several occassions on the short trip from TN to NM to go through their windshield, cracking it on one occasion. Apparently Duke couldn't figure out why there were no bars and yet he couldn't get outside. He became quite a handful for them.
Duke was picked up in Albuqueque, NM, by Duke's new Catahoula Rescue foster "Mom" Robyn R.

DUCHESS #114
#114 DUCHESS (Dachshund/Beagle) Nashville, TN - Tenafly, NJ
DUCHESS #114 was an 8 week old, 5 pound, female Dachshund/Beagle pup, one of six dogs picked up in Roanoke, AL, by team drivers Hollis and Linda C in their own car and taken to meet another driver Tony C in Gadsen, AL.
Tony packed the six into his own personal vehicle and taken to the TN border to meet with Mary Ruth R who had agreed to be a layover home for the six until they could meet their rides to new homes.
Mary Ruth later drove back to the state line to meet with Tony who was to hold Duchess until her ride to New Jersey arrived.
All went well until Tony was making the transfer. He had picked up some Bar-B-Que beef and some potato salad for himself. He made the mistake of leaving the food in the car with Duchess and his own pet, Maria, when he got out.
Duchess bypassed the B-B-Q and went straight for the potato salad. She was quickly covered from nose to tail with the salad. With the help of handy wipes donated by a sympathetic lady, Duchess was soon cleaned up, somewhat, to continue her journey to her new home with Takeshi F in Tenafly, NJ.
