Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

IRIS #109

#109 IRIS (Dachshund) Nashville,TN - Keyport, NJ IRIS #109 a redish brown female Dachshund, about 7 years old, and 12 pounds has had quite an adventure. team drivers Hollis and Linda C drove in their personal vehicle to Roanoke, AL, to pick up Iris and five others from the Almost Home Dachshund Rescue and take them to Gadsden, AL. There, another driver, Tony H, transferred all six to his personal vehicle and drove them to the state line of TN where he met with Mary Ruth R whose rescue had agreed to be a layover home in Columbia. When team drivers E.J. and Bridgett M came through Nashville, TN, Mary Ruth met them with Iris. E.J. and Bridgett reported Iris was a well-behaved, sweet dog with one blue and one brown eye. Whenever the truck would stop she would be ready to go. The team had to be ready for her because she would leap trustingly into their arms when the door opened. Iris went expectantly to her new "Mom" Carol K. Operation Roger driver Susan M pu 2-19-08 del 2-26-08 ******************************************** BELOW IS AN EXCERPT FROM AN E-MAIL RECEIVED 2/22/08 FROM OPERATION ROGER DRIVER SUSAN M: Hello, my name is Susan M, and new member of Operation Roger. On Tues Feb 19, 2008 I picked up 2 animals from West Palm Beach, Florida. We met at a travel plaza on the turnpike. I picked up a puppy named Iceman. He's 12 weeks old, Deaf, and is a mini aussie shepherd. He is going to his new home in Indiana, to a family with a Deaf member. I also got a cat named Killer. She is going to Massachussetts to her new family. Both animals are doing great. They are spending a few days with me during my hometime, then we will get them to their homes. Puppy (Iceman) loves to chew, and run and play. Lots of energy. He has alot of toys to chew and play with. He is very smart and learns quickly. I built steps out of boxes for him, so he can climb up and down off my bed. He also buries one of his chewies in my blankets. He is also becoming housetrained. He did have some accidents in my bedroom, but that's ok, he's just a baby and is learning. I take him outside alot and he uses the bathroom very good. I give him praise when he potties outside. He is a loveable furball. He rides well in my big truck, and small nissan truck. He went with me to get my transmission line fixed at the dealer, and he rides well. He's learning where to lay to be most comfortable. He does not like being in his cage with the door closed. He is learning how to be a trucker dog. He learns quick. He will be in his cage with the door open, and he hides his chewies in there too. **************************************************************

ITCHY #321

#321 ITCHY (Schnauzer) Mesquite, TX - Shoshone, ID ITCHY # , a 16# male about 5- 6 y/o began his trucking experience in Dallas when his rescuer, Sharold, met Driver Kacey S at one of the local truck stops. He never barked. She said he did howl one time. She looked down at him to see him looking up at her with this look of “I want your attention and I want it now.” Kacey reports Itchy was the perfect traveler. Itchy got his unusual name because of a skin problem. The medicines provided did not work to alleviate the problem. Kacey thinks it is a lot of bad habit along with some allergies. She bought him pig ears and some meat flavored bones. When he was concentrating on them, he never stopped to scratch. When Kacey arrived in nearby Jerome, Itchy was met by one of his new family members, Luke, the son of his new Mom Deanna. This was another family to family move.
