Success Stories

Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!

The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty.

This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name.  However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical.  Confused? Don't worry.  Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually.  Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name.

If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you.

We are always striving to improve our website. We hope you like what you see.

CAROLINA #106

#106 CAROLINA (Catahoula Leopard) Prague, OK-Issaquah, WA Carolina #106, an 8 week old, 8 #, Female Catahoula Leopard, began her trip with her Foster "Mom" Staci S in Prague, OK. Staci took both Carolina and another Catahoula, BB, to Kansas City, KS, with her when she went up to visit family. They kept the two pups until Operation Roger driver Rick W could get through to pick them up. Staci's brother Scott then drove them over to meet Rick at a truck stop in Kansas City, MO. Rick reported Carolina was a cutie, playful, and no trouble. He met Rebecca A, another Foster "Mom" in Issaquah, WA, and learned she already had a new adoptive home for the pup. Arranged by Staci S and Rebecca A, Catahoula Rescue Fosters and Dorianne S, Catahoula Rescue, INC, Georgia Area Rep Operation Roger Driver Rick W *************************************************************

LITTLE MAN #108 *

#108 LITTLE MAN (Scottie Poodle X) Roanoke, AL-Randolph, NJ LITTLE MAN #108 a Scottie/Poodle Mix), 1 year old, 8# Male began his journey in Roanoke, AL, as a rescue of Almost Home Dachshund Rescue. Little Man had been abused (shot with a bb gun and hit by a car). He was one of six dogs picked up from the Rescue by Operation Roger team drivers Hollis & Linda C of Anniston,AL, in their personal vehicle. Hollis & Linda then drove to Gadston,AL, where they met Operation Roger driver Tony H in his personal vehicle. Tony in turn drove to the state line of TN/AL to meet Mary Ruth R of Russell Rescue who had agreed to be a layover home. It is reported Little Man likes to take showers. He jumps into the shower, waits to be soaped up and rinsed off. Once toweled he takes off happy. Several days later, Little Man made his way to his new adoptive home with driver Tony H and met his new "Mom" Shari T of Randolph, NJ. Arranged by Karen Nelson H, Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Operation Roger team drivers Hollis & Linda C, driver Tony H ************************************************************* THE FOLLOWING E-MAIL WAS RECEIVED: Hello. I just wanted to say thank you to all involved for bringing me my new baby. It was a pleasure dealing with Karen Nelson (rescuer - rolltideinmayberry@yahoo.com), Michelle and of course, Tony H. who kept me constantly informed of how Little Man was doing on his adventure up to NJ. Little Man, who has been remaned Tyler, is enjoying his new home. He travels with me to work, to the dog park and has even already spent a weekend on our boat traveling on the Hudson River and into the Long Island Sound! Best regards to all and God Bless you for all you do! Shari Tomasiello *************************************************************

DUKE #107

#107 DUKE (Catahoula) Knoxville, TN-Los Alamos NM 87455 DUKE #107 a 2 y/o, 60#, Catahoula Leopard male began his journey in Bainbridge, GA, before being transported to Knoxville, TN, where Operation Roger team drivers Larry and Tanya H picked him up from Sandra R, an approved Catahoula Rescue foster. Duke had been thoroughly temperament tested with people, kids and dogs and had passed with flying colors. However, Duke is NOT good with cats, PERIOD! Duke had been in a good shelter but it was a kill shelter. They had kept Duke longer than his time because he is an exceptional dog! He is a mellow fellow but DOES have a prey drive (per his breed) and is NOT suited to travel or to live with cats. Larry and Tanya can attest to Duke's prey drive and his dislike of long confinement in a vehicle as he tried on several occassions on the short trip from TN to NM to go through their windshield, cracking it on one occasion. Apparently Duke couldn't figure out why there were no bars and yet he couldn't get outside. He became quite a handful for them. Duke was picked up in Albuqueque, NM, by Duke's new Catahoula Rescue foster "Mom" Robyn R. Arranged by: Dorianne S,Georgia Area Rep, Catahoula Rescue, INC Operation Roger Team Drivers Larry & Tanya H *************************************************************

IRIS #109

#109 IRIS (Dachshund) Nashville,TN - Keyport, NJ IRIS #109 a redish brown female Dachshund, about 7 years old, and 12 pounds has had quite an adventure. team drivers Hollis and Linda C drove in their personal vehicle to Roanoke, AL, to pick up Iris and five others from the Almost Home Dachshund Rescue and take them to Gadsden, AL. There, another driver, Tony H, transferred all six to his personal vehicle and drove them to the state line of TN where he met with Mary Ruth R whose rescue had agreed to be a layover home in Columbia. When team drivers E.J. and Bridgett M came through Nashville, TN, Mary Ruth met them with Iris. E.J. and Bridgett reported Iris was a well-behaved, sweet dog with one blue and one brown eye. Whenever the truck would stop she would be ready to go. The team had to be ready for her because she would leap trustingly into their arms when the door opened. Iris went expectantly to her new "Mom" Carol K. Arranged by: Karen Nelson H, Almost Home Dachshund Rescue and Mary Ruth R, Russell Rescue Operation Roger Team Drivers Hollis & Linda C, driver Tony H, Team Drivers E.J. & Bridgett M del 8/6/06 *************************************************************

They then made the return trip north past Anniston and on to Gadston, AL, where they met Tony H. Tony repowered the six on up to the AL/TN line where he was met by Mary Ruth R, who had agreed to be the layover home in Columbia, TN, until our Lead Co-ordinator Michelle G and our team leaders could get Operation Roger drivers through the Nashville area.
