Animal Success Stories
Success Stories Operation Roger has had many happy endings from all the transports we have done. If you have a success story to tell us about a pet we have helped, please send an Email to operationroger01@yahoo.com and include a photo-we would love to share it with our visitors!The latest completed transport stories are found under Information/Success Stories. We will add the update on the pet in red below our story. The stories found here are listed by the latest completed transport number at top. If you know your pets transport number, you may quickly find it in this manner. All of these stories will eventually be segmented into groups of about twenty. This particular section you are reading now, located under Animals/Success Stories, lists the stories by the pet's transported alphabetical name. However, within the confines of each letter, the names may not be alphabetical. Confused? Don't worry. Scroll around and you will be able to locate your pet eventually. Sorry, but this is the result of the program, not us. If the pet’s name was changed enroute or at a later date, it will not show under the new name. If you remember the approximate date of the transport and can't find your pet's story, Email us that information and transport name. We will endeavor to find the story for you. RUBY #290 #290 RUBY ( Novo Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever) Columbus, OH - San Jose, CA RUBY #290 a female 6.6 y/o 25# Novo Scotia Duck-Tolling Retriever lost her master, Wesley, about three years ago in Iraq. Since then she had been taken care of by her master’s family in OH. However, she and two other dogs were kept together and she wasn’t liked by them. Brian, the uncle, decided Ruby would be the perfect companion for his two children. In stepped Team Drivers Mike & Cindy G, who decided to take her as their first transport with Operation Roger. Little did they know that transport would put them, Brian, and Ruby on the front cover and the main subjects of a story in a major trucking magazine, the Truckers Connection, in November. Picked up from Jody, the mother of Wesley, in Columbus, Ruby wasn’t sure of the big truck at first but soon warmed up to it all. She even tolerated their two cats quite well. When she arrived at the meeting point near San Jose, Ruby remembered Brian and was very happy to see him. RUSTY #310 #310 RUSTY (Rhodesian Ridgeback) Kilgore, TX - Independence, MO RUSTY #310 a 21 mo male 70# Rhodesian Ridgeback was picked up by Driver Scott B near Kilgore. He had been rescued from a backyard breeder. Scott was very impressed with Rusty and was certain he had been trained. Assured by both the shipper and the receiver Rusty had never had obedience lessons, Scott demonstrated to the shipper what he meant. Most dogs would run ahead when someone they were walking with stopped. Scott would walk and then stop. Rusty would stop. Scott would turn around and Rusty would go around him and stop. Much to everyone’s surprise, Rusty even ignored a rabbit when it jumped up in front of him. Rusty’s new “Parents” Kenneth and Linda M were very excited to see Rusty looked just like their Ridgeback who had died of cancer. Scott reported Rusty was mellow with excellent behavior. During the trip, Rusty lay on the floor and refused to get on the bed.
